Welcome!

B like us is an image and awareness campaign driven by the concept that ‘enjoying your job makes life more fun’ and it follows the lives of eight young people from two different EU countries and 3 different schools who are in vocational education.

Through personal vlogs we can glimpse into their experiences at school and at work, and into their private lives – along the way these eight students develop from role models into influencers.

B like Maria. B like Youssef. B like us.

PROJECT

The "B Like Us" project is a three-month initiative involving 8 vocational education and training (VET) students, who will document and share their educational experiences through vlogs and a dedicated website. These activities aim to showcase their perspectives, interactions with peers (both domestic and international), and personal growth. The project culminates in a report for the participating institutions, highlighting curriculum content tailored to the needs of future students and industry demands. Deliverables include:

  • Possibility to Improve the programs curriculum addressing sustainability trends.

  • Development of international competencies among students.

  • Creation of a network of 8 student ambassadors for VET

  • Various workshops and the first steps in establishing an international learning community.

The project supports Erasmus+ priorities, such as enhancing VET attractiveness, promoting sustainability, combating climate change, and fostering a culture of environmental responsibility. It also aligns with the EU's climate neutrality goals by empowering youth to contribute to a greener future.

    Inclusivity and Impact

The project is inclusive, open to VET students enrolled in the participating programs, through a transparent application process that emphasizes diversity. Activities include an ambassador program, task development, workshops, and participation in a learning community, ensuring broad engagement. Dissemination will use accessible language, diverse formats, and inclusive communication strategies.

    Intended Outcomes

  • A more positive perception of VET education.

  • Increased student enrollment.

  • Stronger integration of sustainability into curricula.

  • Improved alignment with industry and generational needs.

Stakeholders—students, educators, and institutional management—will drive change, supported by a steering group overseeing progress and adjustments. Outcomes will be institutionalized through recurring workshops, a national pilot project, and an ongoing learning community.

    Relevance and Strategic Fit

The project addresses declining VET enrollment and aligns with EU and national goals to elevate the status of VET education. It builds on existing initiatives by partners like ROC Mondriaan in the Netherlands, FORAVE, and Turismo de Portugal, who bring expertise in sustainability, engineering, tourism, and hospitality. Cross-border collaboration offers valuable perspectives for tackling shared challenges like climatechange and engaging youth in green and digital transitions.

       Management and Execution

The project spans 18 months and includes phases such as:

  1. Ambassadors program (3 months) to promote VET and sustainability.

  2. Workshops and coaching (10+ days) to train students and staff in skills like

    media presentation and intercultural communication.

  3. Final event and learning community (12 months) to disseminate results and

    sustain collaboration.

       Dissemination and Sustainability

Results will be shared through social media, institutional channels, and a                 centralized online platform, targeting stakeholders such as:

  • Current and prospective students.

  • Staff and management at VET institutions.

  • Broader communities.

B LIKE US
Is an ambitious but achievable plan. We think we can reach the targetaudience in a new way at the right place.

The image campaign through eight young people – which can be repeated yearly through a new crew – is just a first phase.

The goal is to use the knowledge we gain from the first years to develop formats for other channels.

For instance, after this, we would like to start producing a program series for broadcasting and/or streaming.

What that format would look like depends on the results from the first phase.

With eight new ‘heroes from VET’ whom we help rise each year, it’s obviously that they would play a part in the show because they are well-known. We make our own cast.

Considering the target audience, overtime, a dedicated YouTube-series would be a no brainer.

In short: the possibilities are endless!

PARTNERS

This project is a collaboration between different parties. It was not possible to set up B LIKE US without each other. So who are we?

ROC Mondriaan, a school community situated in Den Haag and surroundings in the Netherlands, is the initiator of the project, together with content production company Academy Pictures.
